I joined the group programme not to lose weight but because I had problems with my blood sugar, energy and mood levels. After just 10 weeks I have experienced a huge shift and great improvement in all these areas.
Although I thought I was eating quite well before I joined the group I realised that I had blind spots and it has been brilliant getting insight and support to address these.

I felt helpless and out of control.

Under the guidance of Marcelle I lost 8kg and finished my first marathon. Understanding the way my body craves sugar and learning how to take it out of my diet was key to meeting my target weight and becoming healthier and fitter.
I joined Marcelle’s group programme in January 2016 after a friend recommended it to me. I had been steadily gaining weight since the birth of my 2 children 11 years ago and was a stone and a half over what I was happy with. I felt demotivated and all my efforts to lose weight failed.
I had been trying to lose weight by quitting sugar, which was beginning to help me feel better but I felt like I needed support and motivation to actually lose the weight consistently.
Initially it took a while to start losing weight, just getting into the habit of a new way of eating and cooking was a challenge – but I was enjoying learning to cook in new ways and using new ingredients. I have always loved food, cooking healthily and experimenting so this was enjoyable for me.
I quickly learned that I loved to eat cakes but there was a different way to bake and still enjoy healthy cake. My mid-morning coffee and healthy cake is still part of my new ritual and a great pause point in the day.
After following the group programme with Marcelle, I feel fantastic and have loads of energy. All my friends ask me what I have been doing and I have had to buy a new wardrobe as nothing fits anymore! I have reduced my weight by 10kg and my waist by an impressive 6.5 inches.
Best of all my fasting blood glucose levels have dropped from 8.5mmol to 5.8mmol and my total cholesterol is down from 6.0 to 4.1. Zest4life gave me the tools which were easy to learn and follow.
I am amazed and delighted with the zest4life programme. I really feel that this works completely for me as I never feel deprived nor that I am on a diet. The new slimmer, fitter me realises that this is a work in progress and it is hard to remember just how tired and unhealthy I felt before. I now feel energised and am determined to continue with this way of eating and keep up my exercise so that it really does become second nature.
Having done many diets before, lost weight and then regained again I feel inspired that finally I have found a new way of life.
I feel I have completely changed my eating habits, from snacking on fast foods/ready meals for a quick fix to curb hunger to eating loads of sensible, healthy and tasty foods regularly, thus never feeling hungry, still losing weight and moreover feeling great.
I can honestly say that I don’t feel as if I have been on a diet. Marcelle has been a great coach. She is always on hand for advice and never judges you. She is really passionate about making the program work for every-one, treating you as an individual and is always positive and encouraging. I have lost 1 stone 4lbs and have loads more energy, which is great as I now love my busy life, rather than falling asleep on the sofa at 9 p.m.!
